Anelise - Liz- was born and raised in Brazil, where she studied Physical Education and first fell in love with teaching. In the US, she worked in a daycare and as a nanny for two wonderful kids before joining a preschool program in Manhattan, where she was the head teacher for three years, also working on curriculum development and skill based tutoring.
With a M.Ed in Learning, Cognition and Development at Rutgers University.
Liz believes that children’s social and emotional skills play a huge part on their learning, and that starting to exercise these skills in early childhood will benefit their entire academic lives. This is one of the main reasons Liz is committed to early childhood development and to fostering a preschool environment that can meet NYC's competitive academic needs but not overlooking children's social emotional well being.
Anie's life work and mission have always been about education. She was always drawn to children and, over the course of her life, has taught hundreds of students from toddlers to elementary students. Ane holds a B.A in Teaching and a post-baccalaureate specialization in Early Childhood from UFPR in Brazil.
Ane has been an Early Childhood teacher in Manhattan for the past 13 years, focusing mostly on ages 2-4. Beyond her 30+ years of teaching experience, her teaching style and connection to children are unparalleled. Ane sees children as precious individuals, and through constant communication, she's able to guide them through well rounded, long lasting learning, building a strong foundation for their future academic lives. Ane is thrilled to take charge of instruction at Pinafore, bringing creative approach to teaching and focusing on art and sensory projects to teach basic skills for all academic areas.
